Hello to everyone at Washington Memorial Chapel,
We have some good news that I wanted to share with you all. The Reopening Committee, working with the Bishop’s Office, hope to have live streaming of services from inside Washington Memorial Chapel starting on Saturday, August 29th and Sunday, August 30th.
We welcome the congregation to join and see the inside of our beautiful Chapel again and meet our new Weekend Priest, Father Naz Javier.
Participating in these services in the Chapel will be Father Naz Javier, our organist Charles Grove, possibly a reader and an individual who will be recording the service.
We want to thank Father Michael Knight for his service in helping Washington Memorial Chapel get through these difficult COVID19 times and wish him the best of luck in the future. THANK YOU.
The Vestry holds our monthly meetings, now being done through Zoom which enables us to see all participants and makes each meeting more personal. In addition, we are back on our regular monthly meeting schedule.
Thank you to each and every one for your commitment in continuing to support the Chapel each week with your tithes. It is only through this dedication that the Chapel is able to survive and pay our financial commitments which have continued. The Cabin Shop has limited services and still the best hotdogs in Valley Forge Park! The Carillon concerts have been held successfully since the beginning of July with limits on the size of the crowds. And the Cemetery and Grounds staff continue their vital but solemn work daily.
I personally want to thank each and every person on our Vestry who have been working hard to keep everything going at the Chapel. They are all volunteers who have dedicated a great amount of their time to keep our Chapel operating. There are also many other individuals, in addition to our staff, who have worked very hard to get us through these difficult times.
Our dedicated staff are the ones who are answering the questions that most visitors who call or come on the campus see and talk to and are keeping the campus working while we are still closed.
The Search Committee is working diligently in an effort to obtain a new Priest for Washington Memorial Chapel. Hopefully, we will have a permanent Rector in the foreseeable future.
As you can see, much work is being done in an effort to get us all through this pandemic and back to our normal worship and other activities at the Chapel. In the meantime, please take care and stay healthy.
God Bless you all,
Stan Sarnocinski, Jr.
